January 2019

Is it too late for a Happy New Year? Well – Happy New Year anyway.

A lovely quiet Christmas here at Rhydgaled, with Christmas dinner itself featuring a huge amount of home-grown or produced goodies. Yes, our stag turkeys did finish up a little on the large side, but tasted incredible and plenty in the freezer so we can enjoy over the next few months. A boxing day walk on the beach made it pretty much perfect.

So what’s new? Well we’d like to introduce you to Mary and Pru (still sticking with the theme on the names!)- the latest Saddleback weaners to join the gang. Thank you to Puff Pigs – they arrived on Saturday and are settling in – and getting used to electric fencing.

On the topic of pork and bacon – we will have fresh pork (so roasting joints, chops and of course, sausages) available for collection/delivery on Friday 15th Friday and so orders are now being taken.

We’re also taking orders for our popular half-lamb packs.

We have a white board in the kitchen which is our “to do” list – and there are already a number of new projects to keep us out of mischief…

We are aiming to have our first Farmstay B&B room ready for Easter, allowing guests to come and experience life on our smallholding – or just enjoy the peace and quiet and escape the daily routine.

We’ll be back with our farmhouse teas – and once the January diets are over, cakes and bakes will be available to order for weekend treats, family get-togethers and special occasions. Gluten and dairy free easily catered for and vegan options can be discussed.

So quite simply, we’re looking forward to bring more things Rhydgaled to more people. Here’s to a happy, healthy and rewarding 2019.
